The coronavirus pandemic changed how we live. It also changed where we live. These dramatic differences are most visible in cities. Sheltering at home and the shutdown of businesses, workplaces, and entertainment venues left the centers of population looking deserted. Meanwhile, the absence of people and cars provided an opening for the return of nature in ways never seen before.
